Web4 is a lot to take in at once. Seven layers, several products, a research paper and an organization chart. This page is the shortest useful path through it.
Step one, and it takes thirty seconds. Create a UIID at uiid.me. No wallet, no tokens, no blockchain, no payment method, no invitation and no special hardware. It works in an ordinary browser on a laptop — you do not need a phone or a fingerprint sensor.
Step two — use it somewhere real. Sign in at http://trive.web4.one for the free business tools, or join a network built with ATRIUM. Seeing a passwordless sign-in work once explains the concept better than any article here.
Step three — create two or three aliases. One per context: work, private life, a hobby community. Everyday activity runs through aliases rather than one identifier, which is what stops services cross-referencing your behaviour across the internet. There is no limit and no cost.
What you can safely ignore for now: KYC verification (most people never need it), badges, exported .uiid files and AI agents. All of it is there when a reason appears.
