Can an organization use UIID to confirm employment or membership?

Yes, through Verifier status and badges. An organization can apply to become a Verifier and issue portable credentials to other identities.

A badge can represent a real organizational claim. Examples include current employment, association membership, completion of training or a professional qualification.

The credential belongs to the recipient. It sits on the holder’s own UIID rather than remaining inside one company system. Other Web4 applications can check the badge type, its level and when it was issued.

Decide the meaning before building the badge. Define what the credential proves, who is eligible, which evidence is required and what would cause it to be withdrawn.

Use the Institutional Badge Builder for the application process. It allows the organization to define the fields an applicant must supply instead of forcing every credential into the same template.

Plan for the end of the relationship. An employment or membership credential should not continue to imply that a relationship is active after it ends. Include withdrawal and review in the organization’s badge policy before issuing the first credential.

Only Organization identities can take this route. If a company was accidentally registered as a personal identity, resolve that structure before building a credential process around it.
