The unit: WYNIX is the Web4 GROUP unit responsible for Layer 7 — consumer hardware.
The reasoning: A stack that owns identity, connectivity and compute still runs on someone else's device, under someone else's operating system, with someone else's identity system baked in at the lowest level. Layer 7 exists so the chain of ownership does not break at the last step.
What the unit designs: A smartphone, a notebook, a smart ring and smart glasses, each engineered from the ground up to run the Web4 stack and its identity system natively rather than having it retrofitted on. W4OS, a custom Android fork, provides the software layer.
A different commercial model: Devices are planned to be available on a subscription rather than a large upfront purchase, supporting a perpetual upgrade cycle and a circular economy instead of a replace-and-discard pattern.
Current stage: WYNIX hardware is at the prototype and concept stage. Specifications and release timing are not final.
