Where is my data stored?

For European users: Data is stored in Germany or elsewhere within the EU.

Why that is possible: LINKSPREED UG, based in Germany, serves the European market, which keeps the European business inside the EU legal and regulatory framework. LINKSPREED LLC covers the rest of the world.

What sits on your device rather than a server: Your UIID credentials are device-based and biometric-secured. Because identities live on user devices instead of a company server, there is no central credential store to breach.

The exception to note: If you use UIID Cloud, an encrypted backup of your identity data is kept so that a lost device does not mean a lost identity.
