The default setup: By default, your UIID data isn't only stored on your device — it's also kept as an encrypted backup with LINKSPREED. This means losing your device does not automatically mean losing your identity.
The exception: If you have exported your credentials as a .uiid file kept only on your device, and you have deliberately turned off UIID Cloud backup, then that file becomes your only copy. In that case, losing the device without a separate backup of the file would mean losing access.
Our recommendation: Unless you have a specific reason to manage your own offline backup, we recommend keeping UIID Cloud enabled so your identity stays recoverable.
If you're locked out: Contact [email protected], or try any backup codes or alternative login methods you have set up on your account.
